The Society for Art History in Switzerland has, over the last 92 years, issued a book series that is considered to be the standard reference when it comes to Swiss buildings culture, art, and history.
The Content of 137 volumes, which came together to a total of over 65'000 pages, was put into an online knowledge base, including the original images and references.
A total of 2'450 documents with creation dates back to 1941. In the spirit of the progressive digitisation of the Canton of St.Gallen, the Retrodigital Platform project was launched. In the future, it should be possible to access the various historical publications of the State Chancellery independent of time and place, as well as to simplify any necessary research.
A total of 12'200 handwritten survey forms contain information on the number of apprenticeship-leave examinations conducted and passed, expected apprenticeship leavers, and details of the contracts per canton in the respective survey year. Furthermore, these data sets contain important information for the history of education, and, the economy.
